Q. Do I allow for the width of the moulding when ordering a made to measure frame?

A. No. If you have a print which measures 254mm x 305mm you order a frame to these measurements. The print will then fit exactly into the back of the frame regardless of the width of the moulding.

Q. What is Orientation Landscape or Portrait?

A. This is the way your picture will hang on the wall. If when hanging, the shorter side of your frame is at the top and bottom - this is known as Portrait. If when hanging, the long side of your frame is at the top and bottom - this is known as Landscape. If your frame is square just choose any because it doesn't matter even though the site will ask for it.

Q. What measurements should I use when including a mount around my picture?

A. This requires a little more care to get right.
1. Decide on the size of the window in the mount, if the image you wish to frame is printed up to the edge of the paper you must make the window slightly smaller so that the mount will overlap (sit on top) of the print to hold it down. For an example lets say the window will measure 200mm wide x 300mm high (it will hang portrait way up)
2. Decide how wide you want your mount to be, this is a personal choice and depends on the look you require. Lets say you chose the mount to be 40mm wide on all sides (top, bottom, left and right).
3. Some simple addition. Take the window size you decided on above and add on the mount width, but remember to add the width at the top and bottom and each side. So in our example we have 300mm + 40mm (for the top) +40mm (for the bottom) = 380mm, and 200mm +40mm (for one side) +40mm (for the other side) = 280mm.
4. We now have an overall size of 280mm x 380mm and this is the size of frame you will need to order, when you are asked for the mount width sizes you will enter 40mm in all the boxes for top, bottom, left and right sides.

Q. Do your frames include glass?

A. Ready made frames all include plain glass and back unless otherwise stated. When ordering Made to Measure frames you are given the choice of Plain glass, Non Reflective glass, Acrylic, or No glass. The price is calculated depending on your choice. International orders cannot be despatched with glass due to shipping restrictions.
